We're hopping our DeLorean and setting the dials for September 8, 1998 and we're bringing friend of the show and St. Louis Cardinals historian Bruce Pilcher with us. The summer of 98 saw the nation mesmerized by the home run chase between Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa. Back and forth they chased the ghost of Roger Maris and then on September 7, 1998 Big Mac tied the magical 61 mark. The next day Big Mac broke the record.
